Turning the spoken stories into your close friend

Working closely with Shawn, the founder of this startup sound media, I created a inclusive, intimate kind a brand visual experience.

Brand Introduction

Happenus with Shawn Hung is a series of in-depth conversations with people from all walks of life, bridging personal narratives with the emerging societal and environmental happenings we collectively share. The goal being to create a program that unravels fresh perspectives on how we view the world and, in turn, our place within it.

The logo was developed by another party.

How to turn these ideas and conceptual content into something visible in a cohesive layout is my main focus on this project.

Visual Elements

As Shawn written in the brand introduction, “intimate talks with people from all walks of life,” this podcast aims to become like a chat with a long-lost friend and both of you have a lot to share with each other about all you habe experienced and learned along the life journey.

Unlike most of the clients, Shawn already has a fairly clear picture of how the brand should look like. He has created a mood board to better communicate his ideas with me. My job was to connect the dots and use design language to show a “feeling” he wants to show with Happenus.

Based on the color scheme and the mood board, I created a set of brand imagery to better support the idea behind Happenus.

Aligning listening experience with perceptible appearance

Listening to Happenus feels like you’re having an intimate talk with a close friend in a coffee shop, exchanging both of your insights and learnings along the life journey. Happenus features a lot of people across the world and different field.

What sets this podcast apart is its diverse roster of guests, drawn from the humanities, social sciences, and arts, and spanning various generations and genders. While much of today's content prioritizes the latest skills and technical knowledge, this podcast offers a unique and valuable counterpoint, providing authentic insights and a deep appreciation for the intangible, yet essential, elements of our lives.

Thinking further, it is a conversation-based podcast. It created a lot of audio and spoken content as well as so many great ideas that doesn’t have a shape to show. How to turn these ideas and conceptual content into something visible in a cohesive layout is my main focus on this project.
